This week is National Safety Stand-Down week. This annual event to prevent falls in construction is normally held during the month of May but was postponed this year due concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.
The National Safety Stand-Down raises fall hazard awareness across the country in an effort to stop fall fatalities and injuries. Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction employees, accounting for 320 of the 1,008 construction fatalities recorded in 2018 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data). Sadly, those deaths were preventable.
Once again, HazTek is leading Safety Stand-Down events — on our clients’ behalf — at various jobsites and work locations throughout the U.S.
